Police are treating as murder the death of man whose body was found in Sai Kung early this morning (January 17).
About 8.20pm yesterday (January 16), a woman told Police that an empty taxi with its headlights on was parked near the roadside of Sai Sha Road near Yung Shue O Village.
Police conducted a search in the vicinity and about 12.10 this morning found a man with head injuries lying in a bush about 30 metres from the taxi. He was certified dead by ambulancemen at the scene.
The body is thought to be that of the 47-year-old taxi driver.
A post-mortem will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of his death.
Investigations by the Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon East are under way.
