The Lands Department registered 24 lease modifications and one land exchange in the Land Registry during the quarter ending December 2007, of which 19 were for residential purposes and six for non-residential development.
Among these 25 land transactions, seven are located on Hong Kong Island, 11 in Kowloon and seven in the New Territories. The transactions exclude Small House cases.
In addition, one lot was granted by private treaty during the period. It was granted to Hong Kong Housing Authority for public housing developments.
A spokesman for the Lands Department said today (January 15) that the 26 land transactions realised a total land premium of about $1.7 billion.
Transaction records of the lease modifications, land exchanges and private treaty grants are uploaded onto the Lands Department's website (www.landsd.gov.hk) on a monthly basis. Further case details may also be obtained by searching the registered documents directly in the Land Registry.
