Police are investigating a traffic accident in Yuen Long this (December 26) afternoon in which a 78-year-old man was injured and subsequently died in hospital.
About 1.10pm, a private car driven by a 29-year-old man was travelling westbound on Castle Peak Road - Yuen Long. On approaching the junction with Tai Tong Road, the car hit the man who was crossing the road.
He sustained head and hand injuries and was taken to Pok Oi Hospital where he was certified dead at 1.45pm this afternoon.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic New Territories North are proceeding.
