The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr York Chow (left), meets the Canadian Minister of Health, Tony Clement, in Beijing this afternoon (November 27) to exchange views of common interests.
Dr Chow is in Beijing attending the High Level International Food Safety Forum organised by the State General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation.
Invited by the Canadian minister for a side meeting, Dr Chow updated Mr Clement on food safety issues, traditional Chinese medicine practice and pandemic control matters in Hong Kong. He and the Canadian minister agreed that it was important that both sides to consolidate the network of communication especially in times of food and health hazards.
Both ministers also agreed to enhance co-operation and ties on matters under their portfolios. |
