The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Fanling to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The restaurant, at ground floor, 75 Luen Wo Road, Luen Wo Hui, was ordered to suspend business from today (November 19) to December 2, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.
"In June and August this year, there were two convictions in respect of illegal extension of food business at the food premises.
"A total fine of $18,000 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.
He said the restaurant also had two convictions in June and July this year for the same offence.
"A total fine of $6,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from September 10 to 16 this year," the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
