Construction Industry Council meets tomorrow

    The following is issued on behalf of the Construction Industry Council:

     The Construction Industry Council (CIC) will meet tomorrow (November 15) at 2.30pm in Room 1201, 12/F, Murray Building, Garden Road, Central, Hong Kong.

     The agenda items include:

(1) Second progress report of the Committee on Manpower Training and Development;

(2) Third progress report of the Committee on Procurement, Committee on Construction Site Safety, and Committee on Subcontracting;

(3) Fourth progress report of the Committee on Environment and Technology, and Committee on Administration and Finance;
 
(4) Proposed subcommittee structure for the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB);

(5) Publicity arrangements for the amalgamation of the CIC and the Construction Industry Training Authority (CITA);

(6) Programme of activities and estimates for the Financial Year 2007;

(7) Update on preparations for the amalgamation of the CIC and the CITA;

(8) Appointments to Objections Committee, and

(9) Proposed appointments to CITB.

    People are welcome to observe the proceedings of the meeting. Due to the physical constraints of the venue, seats will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

    The discussion on the last four items will not be open to the public in view of privacy and commercial sensitivity.
