Proposed works of section of San Ha Street, Chai Wan, gazetted

    The Government today (November 2) published in the Gazette proposed modification and closure of a section of San Ha Street, Chai Wan, to facilitate public rental housing development at ex-Chai Wan Estate by the Hong Kong Housing Authority.

     The proposed works include permanent closure and demolition of sections of the existing carriageway and footpath; modification of sections of the existing carriageway, footpath and run-in/out; and ancillary works including the laying of water-mains, drainage works and related road modification works.  Temporary alternative access will be provided and temporary diversions will be carried out during the construction period as and when required.

     The construction work is scheduled to begin next month (December) and expected to be completed in February, 2010.

     The plans and scheme are available for public inspection at the following Government Offices during office hours:  

(i) Central and Western District Office,
    Public Enquiry Service Centre, Unit 5, Ground Floor, The Center, 99 Queen's Road Central;

(ii) Eastern District Office,
     Public Enquiry Service Centre, Ground Floor, Eastern Law Courts Building, 29 Tai On Street, Sai Wan Ho; and

(iii) District Lands Office, Hong Kong East,
   19th Floor, Southorn Centre, 130-150 Hennessy Road, Wanchai.

     Any person who wishes to object to the proposed works or the use, or both should write to the office of the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16th Floor, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong on or before January 1, 2008.
