United Nations Sanctions (Iran) Regulation gazetted

    The Government today (September 28) gazetted the United Nations Sanctions (Iran) Regulation which came into immediate effect.
     
     "The regulation implements sanctions against Iran imposed by the United Nations Security Council under Resolutions 1737 and 1747," a government spokesman said.

     The sanctions under the regulation include

- prohibition against the supply, delivery, transfer and carriage of certain nuclear-related items, material, equipment, goods and technology to Iran;

- prohibitions against the procurement of certain arms and nuclear-related items from Iran;

- prohibitions against the provision of certain arms and nuclear-related technical and financial assistance, training, services or resources to Iran; and

- prohibitions against making funds available to certain persons or entities.
