People have until December 31 to vote for their favourite healthy websites online at www.merit.gov.hk for the 2007 Meritorious Website Contest.
Jointly organised by the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority (TELA), the Education Bureau, the Committee for Home-School Co-operation, the Hong Kong Internet Service Providers Association and Radio Television Hong Kong, the contest is to encourage young people to pay more visits to healthy websites and to give recognition to the producers of these websites.
The theme of this year's contest is "Surf smartly. Spend your time wisely". The websites will be judged according to their informativeness in enhancing visitors' knowledge and mentality; user-friendly presentation; systematic organisation; relevancy; reliability and attractiveness of presentation.
Nominations were invited in July and 40 websites have been shortlisted for public voting. These websites cover news, learning resources, information on specific knowledge areas and interests, etc.
The list of the shortlisted websites and details of the contest are also available at the website www.merit.gov.hk.
