The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Frederick Ma, will leave Hong Kong tonight (September 24) to lead a high-level Hong Kong business promotion delegation organised by the Trade Development Council (TDC) on a five-day visit to Russia.
Mr Ma will first stop in Moscow, where he will officiate at the opening ceremony of "Style Hong Kong in Moscow" Exposition and speak at the "Hong Kong Extravangaza" Gala Evening on September 26. The two events will expand opportunities for Hong Kong traders, enhance the image of Hong Kong lifestyle products and raise awareness of Hong Kong brands in Russia.
During his stay in Moscow, Mr Ma will meet representatives from the tourism industry at a dinner organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, and attend a luncheon hosted by Russian-Chinese Business Council for business sectors. He will also have meetings with Russian business leaders.
Mr Ma will fly to St Petersburg on September 27, and address the Seminar on "Hong Kong: Connecting You to a Wealth of Opportunities" on September 28. The seminar is a major event organised by TDC to promote Hong Kong's advantages as a financial centre and a business and trade platform.
He will also meet government officials and business leaders to promote business and investment opportunities in Hong Kong, and discuss measures to enhance the bilateral trade between the two places.
Mr Ma will return to Hong Kong on September 30.
