The Legislative Council Subcommittee to Study the Subject of Combating Poverty continues its overseas duty visit in Madrid and the United Kingdom.
On its second day of its visit (September 18, Madrid time) to Madrid, the delegation met representatives of the Ministry of Work and Social Affairs for a briefing on strategies, policies and measures to promote the employment of disabled people and the development of social economy enterprises. Members also met representatives of the Spanish Business Confederation of Social Economy (CEPES). CEPES is an independent organisation representing most social economy enterprises in Spain.
On its last day (September 19, Madrid time) in Madrid, the delegation met representatives of the Committee of Finance and Taxes of the Lower House of Parliament. The delegation left Madrid and arrived in London in the evening to continue its duty visit.
The four-member delegation is led by Hon Frederick Fung Kin-kee, Chairman of the Subcommittee. Other members are Hon Leung Yiu-chung, Hon Leung Kwok-hung and Dr Hon Fernando Cheung Chiu-hung.
