Central District Blood Donor Centre relocated (with photo)

The following is issued on behalf on the Hospital Authority:

     The Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service announced today (September 20) that its Central District Blood Donor Centre at G/F, 77 Des Voeux Road, would be relocated to 1/F, Tung Ming Building, 40-42 Des Voeux Road, Central, on September 28 to provide new service to donors.

     The current centre will be closed from Sunday (September 23).

     To celebrate launching of the new centre, a "Crystal Pen Holder" will be presented to people who donate blood at the new Centre from September 28 to October 10.

     The service hours of the new centre are from 11am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday, closed on Sunday and public holidays.  For addresses and service hours of Blood Donor Centres or other enquiries, people can call the hotline at 2710 1234 or visit the website at http://www.ha.org.hk/rcbts.
     
     Hong Kong needs 800 people to donate blood every day to meet patients' demands.  People aged from 16 to 65, weighing more than 41 kg and healthy are invited to be blood donors.
