Construction Industry Council meets tomorrow

    The following is issued on behalf of the Construction Industry Council:

     The Construction Industry Council (CIC) will meet tomorrow (September 10) at 2.30pm in Room 1201, 12/F, Murray Building, Garden Road, Central, Hong Kong.

     The agenda items include:

(1) Disclosure of interests of members;

(2) Administrative arrangements for CIC;

(3) Refresher training courses for tower crane workers organised by the Construction Industry Training Authority (CITA);

(4) Second progress report of Committee on Procurement, and Committee on Subcontracting;

(5) Third progress report of Committee on Administration and Finance, and Committee on Environment and Technology;

(6) Report to CIC on the focus group sessions on amalgamation for CITA¡¦s Staff on August 13 and 16, 2007;

(7) Preparation for amalgamation of CIC and CITA;

(8) Formation of Construction Industry Training Board (CITB); and

(9) Recruitment of Executive Director of CIC.

    People are welcome to observe the proceedings of the meeting. Due to physical constraints of the venue, seats will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

    The discussion on the last three items will not be open to the public in view of privacy and commercial sensitivity.
