The delegation of the Legislative Council Panel on Commerce and Industry and Panel on Economic Services left Frankfurt and arrived in Las Vegas on August 28, 2007 to continue its 12-day overseas duty visit.
During its visit to Las Vegas, the delegation met with Chris Meyer, Vice-President (Convention Centre Sales) of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority to receive a briefing on the promotion and development of convention and exhibition industry in Las Vegas. The delegation also visited Magic Marketplace (the largest and most comprehensive fashion industry trade event in the world held in every February and August) and met with Christopher McCabe, Vice President, Karalynn Sprouse, Sales Director, and Nancy Yamada, Senior Account Executive from MAGIC International at the Las Vegas Convention Centre to understand the operation of trade shows for the apparel industry.
The eight-member delegation is led by Hon Vincent Fang Kang. Other members include Hon Jeffrey Lam Kin-fung, deputy delegation leader, Hon Wong Ting-kwong, Hon Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, Hon Andrew Leung Kwan-yuen, Hon James Tien Pei-chun, Hon Howard Young, and Hon Mrs Selina Chow Liang Shuk-yee.
