Hongkong Post today (August 16) announced that under the Hong Kong/Mainland Gift Fulfilment Service, orders for sending mooncake gift sets to the Mainland and within Hong Kong would be accepted from tomorrow (August 17) to September 20.

Assistant Postmaster General (Business Development) Mr Dan Choi said that based on the popularity of this programme last year and the growing demand for more variety of selections, the offer had been increased this year to 17 mooncake gift sets with distinctive packaging. "Some of the gift sets are made in Hong Kong while others are produced on the Mainland. All come in presentable packaging with quality guaranteed. These gifts sets are value for money presents to send to relatives, friends or business partners in Hong Kong and on the Mainland to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival."

Customers can place orders for the mooncake gift sets to be sent to more than 2,000 cities on the Mainland and throughout Hong Kong. The gift sets are priced from $168 to $738, including delivery charges. Order forms can be obtained at any post office. Completed order forms can be handed in at any post office, or sent by fax or post to Hongkong Post Kowloon East Logistics Centre on or before September 20. Customers can also order online at the Hongkong Post Internet Shopping Mall on the ShopThruPost website (www.shopthrupost.hk), where photos of the different gift sets are displayed. All orders will be delivered before the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Hongkong Post and China Post have teamed up since January, 2004,¡@to offer the Hong Kong/Mainland Gift Fulfilment Service, providing customers with the choice and convenience of sending gift sets to friends or associates at addresses on the Mainland. As well as mooncakes for the Mid-Autumn Festival, the range of different gift sets includes Lunar New Year gifts and bouquets, cakes and flower baskets for other celebratory occasions.

The Hong Kong/Mainland Gift Fulfilment Service has been popular with customers because of the quality and variety of the gifts, the convenience of ordering and the reliability of the service. There is traditionally a heavy increase in the volume of mail and courier items preceding holiday periods, and customers are advised to place their Mid-Autumn Festival orders as early as possible.
