As an extension to the film programme "1997, Before and After: Commemorating 10 Years of Reunification" screened in June and July, the Hong Kong Film Archive (HKFA) will present two seminars "1997, Before and After" at 4.30pm on August 18 and 25 to discuss reunification issues as expressed in films.
Several speakers, including cultural and film critics, academics and current affairs commentators, will participate in discussions. The seminar on August 18 will be conducted in Cantonese and the one on August 25 will be in English. Both will be held at the Cinema of the HKFA.
The speakers on August 18 will be cultural critic Ng Chun-hung, film critic Long Tin, and cultural and current affairs commentator Leung Man-tao.
Speakers at the August 25 seminar will be Mr Ian Aitken of Hong Kong Baptist University, Mr Steve Fore of City University of Hong Kong, Mr Michael Ingham of Lingnan University, and Ms Gina Marchetti of The University of Hong Kong.
Admission to both seminars is free. Detailed information is available in the "ProFolio 38" distributed at all performing venues of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
