LD's response on bar-bending dispute

In response to media enquiries, the Labour Department gave the following reply today (August 12):
Under the mediation of the Labour Department, the meeting between the Hong Kong Bar-bending Contractors Association and the Hong Kong Construction Industry Bar-bending Workers Union on pay rise originally scheduled for tomorrow (August 13) was advanced to this afternoon. The two sides issued a joint statement after the meeting. The Labour Department will continue to facilitate communication between the employers and the employees.
