The Government published in the Gazette today (August 10) the authorised drainage improvement works in Upper Lam Tsuen River, She Shan River and Upper Tai Po River.
The works include construction of new roads, footpaths and pedestrian crossings and reconstruction of vehicular roads, footpaths and footbridges for maintenance and local access purposes.
Sections of existing roads, footpaths, pedestrian crossings and vehicular bridges will be closed, demolished or reconstructed. Pedestrian access and vehicular access will be maintained during construction work.
The works are scheduled to begin next month (September) and be completed in June, 2011.
Upon completion, the road and the bridges will serve as local access to the public and will be used by the Drainage Services Department as access to maintain the drainage facilities.
