Additional performance for "The Long March Suite" concert

    Due to overwhelming public response to "The Long March Suite" choral concert, an extra performance will be held at 2.30pm on August 26.

     Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong SAR and the 80th anniversary of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, "The Long March Suite" choral concert is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and Hong Kong Culture and Art Foundation, in association with Hong Kong Association of Choral Societies.

     In this choral spectacular, the mass chorus of more than 400 singers from the Zhan You Art Troupe of Beijing Military Area Command and Hong Kong Association of Choral Societies will sing "The Long March Suite", one of the Chinese music classics of the 20th Century.

     The programme also includes mass chorus "My Dear Motherland", "Spring Plough", "The Guerrilla's Song", "The Flags Are Fluttering"; National Class One Performer Liu Bin to perform "In the Army" and "The Long March". Renowned tenor Warren Mok will perform "In a Far Away Land" and "That is Me" and pianist Liu Shih-kun will also perform selections from "The Yellow River" piano concerto.

     "The Long March Suite" choral concert will be staged at 8pm, August 25 and 26 (Saturday and Sunday), and 2.30pm on August 26 at the Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Tickets of the additional performance priced at $320, $220 and $100 are available from August 6 (Monday) onwards at all URBTIX outlets. Half-price concessions will be granted to senior citizens, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients. (Limited tickets for students Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients are available on a first-come, first-served basis.)
