The Lotteries Fund allocated $83,677,200 to finance various social welfare service programmes from April to June this year, a Social Welfare Department spokesman said today (July 31).
Of the total, $32,626,123 went to elderly and medical social services; $23,732,457 went to rehabilitation services; $9,420,615 to family and child welfare services; $8,687,200 to services for offenders; $5,543,300 to youth services; $2,639,688 to social welfare support services and $1,027,814 to community development services.
The fund was established to finance, by way of grants, loans or advances, the operation or development of social welfare services and medical or educational projects with a welfare content, the spokesman said.
