Electors urged to vote in Kowloon City DC by-election tomorrow
******************************************************

Electors of Kowloon City District Council Hung Hom Bay constituency have been urged to vote in the by-election in their constituency tomorrow (July 29).

A polling station at Holy Carpenter Secondary School, 10 Tai Wan Road, Hung Hom, will be open to electors from 7.30am to 10.30pm tomorrow.

The two candidates contesting the by-election are: No 1, Chau Chung Leung; and No 2, Cheung Yan Hong.

"It will take just a few minutes for people to vote," a spokesman for the Registration and Electoral Office said today (July 28).

"All an elector needs to do is to show their identity card at the polling station, and use the chop provided to stamp the ballot paper with a tick in the circle opposite the name of their chosen candidate before putting it into the ballot box," the spokesman said.

The spokesman warned that a polling station was a restricted area accessible only to electors and authorised people.

"Unauthorised people are strictly prohibited from using mobile phones, taking photographs, filming or making video or audio recordings in the polling station," he said.

An election hotline, 2891 1001, will be in service from 7am to 11pm tomorrow to answer enquiries relating to electoral matters, including the location of polling station.

A complaints hotline, 2827 7251, will also operate throughout the polling hours (from 7.30am to 10.30pm tomorrow) to handle complaints about breaches of electoral rules and guidelines.

Once the poll is closed, the polling station will be turned into a counting station, and people are welcome to watch the counting of votes. The Returning Officer will announce the election results at the counting station.

The elected candidate will fill a vacant seat in the Kowloon City District Council.
