The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department has stepped up anti-mosquito efforts on the hillside and slopes near housing estates, buildings and schools in Diamond Hill following a rise in the ovitrap index in the area.
Anti-mosquito clearance operations were mounted along Fung Mei Path this morning (July 27) and in the vicinity of Tsz Lok Estate, Sheung Fung Street, Tsz Wan Shan in the afternoon to locate and eliminate potential mosquito breeding places.
Fogging was yesterday applied to three locations - the slope below Tsz Wan Shan Service Reservoir Playground in Yuk Wah Street, government land at junction of Po Leung Lane and Yuk Wah Street and vacant land in former Tin Liu Village.
The enhanced anti-mosquito measures will continue in the coming weeks. Clearance and fogging operations scheduled for tomorrow (July 28) and Sunday (July 29) will cover the hillside and slopes bound by Fung Tak Road, Fung Mei Path, Fung Lai Road and Po Kong Village Road, including the slope behind Po Kong Village Road School Village.
