Commercial, industrial and public sectors wanting to organise recreational and sports activities for their employees to foster team spirit are invited to participate in the Corporate Games 2007 to be held from September this year to January, 2008.
The Corporate Games, an annual event organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department since 1990, consist of a series of sports competitions for both employees and employers of the commercial and industrial sectors as well as public organisations. The Games aim to promote team spirit and a stronger sense of belonging among employees through participation in sports competitions. It is also hoped that the Games can help working people develop a habit of regular exercise.
The Corporate Games 2007 will cover 13 sports events and a photo competition to record the memorable moments of the events. The 13 sports events are swimming, track and field, distance running, indoor rowing, badminton, table tennis, tennis, 7-a-side mini-soccer, 11-a-side soccer, basketball, volleyball, snooker and tenpin bowling.
All events will be divided into three groups: organisations with 300 or more employees in Hong Kong will be categorised in Group A, organisations with less than 300 employees in Hong Kong will be in Group B, while Group C is for government departments.
Over the years, the Corporate Games have gained in popularity among the commercial, industrial and public sectors. More than 8,700 participants from more than 280 organisations took part in the Games last year.
