The Home Affairs Department has reminded people that the Very Hot Weather Warning issued by the Hong Kong Observatory is still in force. People in need may take refuge from the heat in the common areas in any of the department's community centres or community halls that are generally open from 9am to 10pm. Drinking water and cups are provided in the venues.

If the Very Hot Weather Warning is still in force after 4.30pm, the department will open nine temporary night heat shelters tonight for those in need of refuge. These centres will open from 10.30pm until 8am tomorrow.
