Six employers ordered to pay MPF non-payment

    The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (July 23) pursued six claims in the Small Claims Tribunal for some $126,000 on behalf of 167 employees, who were owed MPF contributions by their employers.

     At the tribunal's hearing, Hoi On Security Company Limited, did not dispute the amount claimed. The Adjudicator ordered it to pay the MPFA $49,377.51, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable.

     The other five defendants, Topone Holdings Limited trading as Perfecta Beauty Technology Center (formerly known as Creating Perfection Beauty Technology Center), Source Pro H.K. Limited, Gogobus.com Limited, Le Spa De Beauty & Soul Limited and Siu Wai Tack trading as Tack Po Restaurant, did not appear. In their absence, the Adjudicator ordered them to pay the MPFA $43,639.40, $24,985.16, $4,328.74, $2,532.08 and $265.46, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable.

     The amounts awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The tribunal further ordered defendants to pay $176, $200, $110, $96, $86 and $190 respectively as the costs in respect of the claims.
