Police are investigating a traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan during which an 84-year-old woman was killed this morning (July 17).
At about 9.45 am, a private car driven by a 23-year-old man was travelling along Tai Po Road towards Sham Shui Po. While approaching outside the old North Kowloon Magistracies’ Courts, it reportedly knocked down the 84-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining head injuries, the woman was rushed to the Caritas Medical Centre where she was certified dead at 10.04 am.
The 23-year-old private car driver was later arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is still being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic, Kowloon West are proceeding.
