The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department has introduced a new advance on-line booking system for individual visits to the Hong Kong Wetland Park. Starting from today (July 16), individuals can reserve admission tickets no less than seven days or not more than three months before the day of visit on the Park's website at www.wetlandpark.com.
A department spokesman said the system applied only to booking up to nine tickets by individual visitors. Any reservation of a larger amount would go under the group booking procedures.
"The bookings will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis, and applicants will be notified by email or by fax within three working days after receiving the application," he said.
Upon acceptance of booking, the park will issue a demand note to an applicant for full payment of admission fees within three working days. Booking will be confirmed only upon receipt of full payment. The applicant should present the demand note and original payment record upon collection of tickets at Ticket Office on the day of visit.
Overseas applicants who are unable to use the general demand note payment methods should inform the park within two working days by email or fax after receiving the acknowledgement from the park. They are required to bring the confirmation letter to the Ticket Office on the day of visit and pay by cash.
The spokesman said that no alteration or refund would be considered once payment was accepted and the admission did not include any guided tour service.
The Wetland Park reserved the right to approve or reject any application, he said.
The park is open on Mondays, Wednesdays to Sundays from 10am to 5pm (Ticket Office opens from 9.30am to 4pm). It is closed on Tuesdays (except public holidays) and the first and second days of Chinese New Year.
