The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department today (July 13) strongly advised people to stop all sorts of water-based activities in Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park following sightings of three juvenile sharks in the park this afternoon.
Three sharks, about two to three feet long, were sighted near the Hoi Ha Wan Marine Life Centre between 4pm and 5pm.
A department spokesman said people should refrain from swimming, diving or any other water-based activities in the park for the time being, not even in shallow water.
"For their own safety, people in the water in the park will be asked by our patrol staff to leave the water immediately," the spokesman said.
