Renovation works at Shui Wo Street Public Library

    Renovation of Shui Wo Street Public Library in Kwun Tong would begin on July 30 (Monday) to provide better library facilities and enhance service quality, a spokesman for the Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (July 12).

     The renovation works will be implemented in two phases and are expected to be completed in February, 2008.

     The first phase of the renovation works will start on July 30. Studentsˇ¦ Study Room service will be temporarily suspended while other library services will remain as normal.  

     In the second phase of the renovations, which is expected to start in late September, a temporary library will be set up at the Studentsˇ¦ Study Room to provide library services on lending, readersˇ¦ registration, newspapers and periodicals, reference and information, readersˇ¦ advisory, reservation and Internet services. A book drop service will be provided after the library opening hours.

     The opening hours of the library will remain unchanged during the whole renovation period.
   
     Readers may renew library materials by telephoning 2698 0002 or 2827 2833, or via internet at www.hkpl.gov.hk.
