Here is an item of interest to swimmers.

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced tonight (July 11) that Stanley Main Beach in the Southern District will be reopened to the public at 9am tomorrow (July 12) as the Marine Police and Government Flying Service have completed checks in the nearby waters and confirmed that no shark was sighted, whereas LCSD's shark prevention nets maintenance contractor has checked, with Sonar, the swimming zone bounded by the shark prevention net and confirmed that no shark or big fish were found.

Stanley Main Beach was temporarily closed today after the contractor responsible for checking the shark prevention nets found a small shark carcass entangled outside the shark prevention net.
