Tai Kok Tsui restaurant ordered to suspend business
***************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Tai Kok Tsui to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

The restaurant, at Shop No.1, ground floor, Fu Bong Building, No. 52-54 Fuk Tsun Street, was ordered to suspend business from today (July 2) to July 15, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

"In November last year and April this year, there were two convictions in respect of illegal extension of food business at the said food premises.

"A total fine of $4,200 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.

He added that there were also two convictions of the same offence regarding the same restaurant in July last year.

"A total fine of $5,500 was levied and 30 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from October 18 to 24 last year," the spokesman said.

He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, otherwise their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
