The star exhibit in the first phase of the exhibition -- Zhang Zeduan's "Along the River During the Qingming Festival" of the Northern Song dynasty. The five-metre painting, strewn with all kinds of businesses and with a wide variety of architectural structures, offers glimpses of the institutions, economy, culture and customs in the Song capital Bianjing a millennium ago.
