The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (June 27) obtained an order for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at about $690,000 against an employer in the District Court.
The District Court today issued a judgment against an employer, namely, Business & Industrial Trade Fairs Limited. The defendant was ordered to pay the MPFA the sum of $692,028.67, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 21 employees of the defendant.
The amount awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as it is received by the MPFA. The District Court further awarded payment of $930 for the District Court case.
