The Registration and Electoral Office (REO) today (June 22) reminded eligible people to submit their applications for voter registration by July 16 so they can be included in the registers of electors which would be published in September.
The voter registration campaign 2007 was launched on June 2.
"Only registered electors can vote in the coming District Council election on November 18," an REO spokesman said.
For registered electors, the deadline to report any change of address or other personal particulars to the REO is August 29.
Those who have submitted the forms for registration or notification of address change will receive a reply from the REO within 14 days. People should call the enquiry hotline, 2891 1001, if they do not receive any reply from the REO within 14 days after submitting the relevant forms.
Hong Kong permanent residents holding an identity document who have reached 18 years of age and ordinarily reside in Hong Kong are eligible to be registered as electors.
