The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Kwun Tong to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The restaurant, at Shop A, ground floor, Wah Yee Building, No 8 Yan Oi Court, was ordered to suspend business from today (June 20) to July 3, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.
"In November last year and April this year, there were two convictions in respect of unauthorised alteration of premises and illegal extension of food business at the premises.
"A total fine of $11,300 was levied and 15 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.
He said there were also two convictions in respect of illegal extension of food business regarding the same restaurant in March and April last year.
"A total fine of $11,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from July 26 to August 1 last year," the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, otherwise their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
