Re-appointment of HKEx Risk Management Committee members

    The Financial Secretary has re-appointed Professor Chan Ka-lok and Mr Fong Hup as members of the Risk Management Committee (RMC) of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx).

     The re-appointments, made under the Securities and Futures Ordinance, will take effect from July 1, 2007, to June 30, 2009.  

     "Professor Chan and Mr Fong have contributed positively to the work of the RMC over the past two years, and we look forward to their continued support," a government spokesman said today (June 18).  The RMC was established in March 2000, with the statutory role to formulate policies on risk management matters relating to activities of the HKEx and its subsidiaries for consideration by the board of the HKEx.

     The RMC is chaired by the Chairman of the HKEx, currently Mr Ronald Arculli.  The other serving members of RMC are Mr He Guangbei, Mr Eddie Yue, Mr Keith Lui, Dr Bill Kwok and the Mr Marvin Cheung.
