Renovation works at Lockhart Road Public Library

    Renovation works for the Lockhart Road Public Library in Wan Chai would begin next Wednesday (June 27) to provide better library facilities, a spokesman for the Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 18).

     The renovation works will be implemented in two phases and are expected to be completed in seven months.

     The Students' Study Room will be temporarily closed during the first phase of renovation. Other library services will remain as normal.

     The second phase will start in mid-September, during which, the Students' Study Room will be reopened while part of the room will be used as a temporary library to provide limited services on lending, readers' advisory, newspapers and periodicals, reservation, self-service photocopying, Internet and self-charging services. A book drop service will be available after the library opening hours.

     The opening hours of the library will remain unchanged during the whole renovation period.
