Following is the transcript of the Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology, Mr Joseph W P Wong, speaking to the media after attending the Legislative Council meeting today (June 14):
Reporter: Where will things go from here with RTHK's future?
SCIT: I have already mentioned in my speech that the next step is to issue a consultation paper which will set out all the issues including, of course, the future of RTHK, and we will carry out an extensive consultation. In the course of the consultation, we will include seeking the views of members of the public, the Legco members, as well as RTHK management and staff, and we will take it from there.
Reporter: Is it going to be one single consultation or two steps to it?
SCIT: I do not think we have really reached the stage of how do we do the consultation, but I suppose suffice to say it will be a comprehensive and it will be an extensive consultation.
Reporter: Is there a conspiracy .....?
SCIT: Absolutely not.
