The Friends of Hong Kong Cultural Centre scheme, which promotes appreciation and interest in the performing arts, is now accepting applications for half-year membership for 2007.
Members can enjoy a full package of exclusive benefits, including a 10% discount on tickets for cultural programmes presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and most of the department-sponsored programmes, including the International Arts Carnival 2007, Mediterranean Arts Festival, Shanghai Shaoxing Opera Group, Peking Opera Gala and other prestigious programmes.
Other benefits include special discounts on the purchase of books, gifts, musical instruments and scores, jewellery, CDs, art works, Ocean Park SmartFun Annual Pass, art and cultural courses, magazine subscriptions and dining in hotels and restaurants.
Members will also have the opportunity to attend dress rehearsals, lectures, demonstrations and to visit art institutes.
Newsletters and an events calendar will keep members informed of the latest arts programmes.
People who enrol now can choose either a thermo mug or a padlock with luggage tag set as a souvenir while stocks last.
The half-year membership fee for "Friends of Hong Kong Cultural Centre" is $75 for individuals, $110 for joint members (for two people), and $35 for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and full-time students. Membership is valid from July 1 to December 31.
Enrolment forms are available at all department performing venues and public libraries. They can also be downloaded from the website: www.hkculturalcentre.gov.hk.
