The Chief Executive in Council today (June 5) approved a short extension of time for the Commission of Inquiry on Allegations relating to The Hong Kong Institute of Education to submit its report to the Chief Executive on or before June 20.
A government spokesman said the commission, when appointed on February 15 this year, was asked to submit its report with findings and conclusions in four months' time (i.e. by June 14).
The spokesman said the hearing of the Closing Submissions by the parties to the Inquiry would not be completed until tomorrow (June 6). An extension was necessary in order to give the Commission sufficient time to prepare its report.
