A Correctional Services Department staff fell to his death in the Staff Training Institute (STI) of the Correctional Services Department (CSD) today (May 28).
The 22-year-old staff, recruit Assistant Officer II, surnamed Wong, was found lying outside the staff quarters in STI at about 4.30pm.
He was immediately given first-aid and sent out to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital. He was certified dead at about 5.30pm.
Wong joined the Department in January 2007 and was receiving training in STI.
A CSD spokesperson said the trainee was recently disturbed by an affair and was given professional counselling. The Police and his family have been informed of the incident.
The Department will provide appropriate assistance to his family and counselling to other staff and trainees in STI.
