Renovation works in phases at Fa Yuen Street Public Library

    Renovation works for the Fa Yuen Street Public Library in Mong Kok, Kowloon will begin June 1 (Friday) to provide better library facilities, a spokesman for the Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (May 25).

     The renovations will be implemented in two phases and are expected to be completed in nine months.

     The first phase of renovation will start from June 1. The Students' Study Room and the Extension Activities Room will be temporarily closed during renovation. Other library services will remain normal.

     The second phase of renovation will start in mid-August. During the period, the Students' Study Room will be used as a temporary library to provide limited services on lending, reference and information, newspapers and periodicals, reservation, self-service photocopying, Internet and self-charging services. Book drop service will be available after the library opening hours.

     The opening hours of the library will remain unchanged during the renovation period.
