The Chief Executive of the Hospital Authority (HA), Mr Shane Solomon, expresses the deepest sorrow at the tragic death of a nurse of the Palliative Care Outreach Team of Caritas Medical Centre in a traffic accident today (May 21) while she was discharging the out-reaching service. On behalf of HA, Mr Solomon also extends his condolences to the family of the staff member.
Mr Solomon said this is a tragic loss of a devoted member of the palliative care nursing team which has been playing a vital role in providing extended care to needy patients upon discharge. The nurse has been serving in Caritas Medical Centre for 21 years.
Staff of the human resources department has already been assigned immediately this afternoon to keep in touch with and take care of the family to provide all necessary support and assistance.
