The following is a statement by the Secretary for Home Affairs, Dr Patrick Ho, today (May 21) on the death of member of the Sai Kung District Council, Mr Lau Wan-hei, who passed away this morning:
"I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of Mr Lau.
"Mr Lau served as the chairman of the Sai Kung Rural Committee and an ex-officio member of the Sai Kung District Council since 1985. He was highly respected by the community for his contributions to the betterment of the rural community and Sai Kung district over the years.
"Mr Lau's death is a great loss to the district and the District Council. On behalf of my colleagues, I extend my deep condolences to his family."
