The Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) announced today (May 21) that the Hong Kong Energy Statistics 2006 Annual Report will be available for download (in PDF format) free of charge at the website of C&SD (www.censtatd.gov.hk/products_and_services/products/publications/index.jsp) as from 3pm of May 22 (Tuesday).
The report describes the situation of energy supply and demand in Hong Kong. It contains comprehensive statistical information relating to different forms of energy, including oil products, coal products, electricity and gas. It also includes an overall energy balance which summarises the sources and uses of different forms of energy, and depicts their relationship in the energy transformation processes.
Major statistical information presented in the report include:
(i)list prices, storage capacity, tank stock, imports, re-exports, retained imports, unit values of imports and quantity of sales by type of users for oil products;
(ii)imports, re-exports, retained imports and unit values of imports for coal products; and
(iii)generating capacity and production for electricity and gas as well as consumption by type of users for electricity and gas.
Annual figures for the years 1996 to 2006 and quarterly figures for 2005 and 2006 are provided for most of these statistics.
The print version of the publication can be purchased in the following ways:
(i)Purchase in person at the Publications Unit of the C&SD (Address: 19/F, Wanchai Tower, 12 Harbour Road, Wan Chai; Tel: 2582 3025). The publication is for sale at HK$67 per copy.
(ii)Complete a mail order form which is available for downloading at the website of the C&SD (www.censtatd.gov.hk/products_and_services/other_services/provision_of_stat/mail_ordering_of_publications/index.jsp) and return it to the C&SD. Price (excluding postage) is the same as above.
(iii)Purchase online at the Statistical Bookstore of the C&SD (www.statisticalbookstore.gov.hk) or the Government Bookstore of the Information Services Department (www.bookstore.gov.hk). Print version if purchased online is offered a discount and is sold at 85% of its original price. After discount, the price (excluding postage) is HK$57 per copy for the publication.
