Welcome to the "8th Inter-School Stamp Exhibits Competition - Awards Presentation and Exhibition Opening Ceremony". First of all, I would like to thank Mr Sheridan Lee, Principal Education Officer of the Education and Manpower Bureau (EMB), and Mr Henry Wu, President of The Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong, for taking time out from their busy schedule to officiate at the ceremony.

The Inter-School Stamp Exhibits Competition is an annual large-scale philately promotion activity organised by Hongkong Post, which aims to stimulate youth's interest in stamp collection. A stamp exhibit is a perfect presentation of stamp products and narratives in thematic approach. Through producing a stamp exhibit, students will be more knowledgeable in stamp collection and more proficient in their writing skills. And while exploring stories behind the stamps, they can have a glimpse of the history and culture of Hong Kong and the world. It is indeed a worthy learning experience to all of them.
This year, 129 frames of stamp exhibits were received from more than 200 participating students. The stamp exhibits on display today are a reflection of the enthusiasm and dedication of the participants in creating and producing their own work. In addition, the exhibition also brings in fantastic stamp exhibits from local philatelic societies for enjoyment of interested students and stamp collectors. As this is the first time that the exhibition is held in a busy shopping mall, we have prepared a variety of activities including game stalls, philatelic workshops and sales booths for the visitors. Just take your time and look around. You will surely find something fun to do.

In closing, I would like to congratulate all winning students and their schools for the marvellous job done. I also wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to Education and Manpower Bureau, academic sector and various philatelic societies for their fervent support and participation which contribute to the success of this competition and exhibition.

Thank you.
