The Chairman of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA), Mr Henry Fan Hung-ling, today (April 2) welcomed the Chief Executive's reappointment of Mrs Diana Chan as the Managing Director of the MPFA for a term of three years, with effect from July 1.

"The Management Board is very pleased with the performance of Mrs Chan as managing director of the MPFA. The board is confident that the MPF System will be further enhanced under her able leadership," Mr Fan said.

Mrs Chan said she felt privileged to be reappointed as the Managing Director of the MPFA. "I will continue to serve the community together with my colleagues to safeguard and further develop the MPF System. We look forward to the continued guidance and support of the Chairman and the Management Board in meeting the challenges ahead.

"Also, I would like to thank our partners in the MPF System - the MPF service providers and practitioners, scheme members, employers and their representatives, the Government and the community at large, for their support of the MPF System. I will continue to seek their support to further strengthen the system for the retirement benefit of Hong Kong's working population."

Mrs Chan joined the MPFA as the Executive Director (Corporate Services) in 2000, and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer (Corporate Affairs) with the responsibilities of overseeing policy development, corporate affairs, human resources, finance and information technology in 2001. Before her current appointment as the managing director in July 2004, Mrs Chan was acting managing director from July, 2003, to June, 2004, upon the departure of former managing director, Mr Rafael Hui. She served in the Administrative Service of the Hong Kong Government in 1980-1991 and worked in the Hospital Authority in 1991-2000.
