The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is inviting individuals or subvented non-governmental organisations to submit applications to operate stalls for the Arts Fun Fair in Kowloon Park and the Arts Corner in Victoria Park.
The 9th Arts Fun Fair at Kowloon Park will run from 1pm to 7pm on Sundays and public holidays from June 3, 2007 to May 25, 2008.
The 8th Arts Corner at Victoria Park will run from 10am to 6pm on Sundays and public holidays from July 2, 2007 to February 24, 2008. The Arts Corner will be suspended during major events held at the park upon notice.
There will be 30 and 40 stalls respectively at the Loggia of Kowloon Park and the South Pavilion and South Pavilion Plaza of Victoria Park for selling handicrafts and providing arts services such as photography, painting, calligraphy and sketching.
Applications will be considered by a vetting panel comprising District Councillors and representatives of the Leisure Services Branch and Cultural Services Branch of the LCSD. Assessments are based on the variety, quality, creativity, artistic merit and attractiveness of the handicrafts or arts services as well as relevant professional skills possessed by the applicants.
Each successful applicant is required to pay a registration fee of $100 and a security deposit of $1,000. The registration fee is non-refundable or non-transferable. The security deposit will be forfeited if the attendance of the successful applicant at the stall is less than the percentage specified in the agreement or when the agreement is terminated due to the successful applicant's failure to comply with the agreement terms.
A successful applicant is required to take out a public liability insurance for covering any indemnity of not less than $6.5 million during the agreement period.
Application forms are available starting from tomorrow (April 2) at Kowloon Park Management Office, 1/F, 22 Austin Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon; Victoria Park Management Office, Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong and Eastern District Leisure Services Office, 3/F, Quarry Bay Municipal Services Building, 38 Quarry Bay Street, Hong Kong.
Completed application forms should be submitted together with copies of relevant proof of their professional knowledge in the respective fields (if any) and samples of handicrafts or artwork to the respective Park Management Offices. The deadlines for application for Arts Fun Fair stalls at Kowloon Park and Arts Corner stalls at Victoria Park are 6.15pm and 5pm on April 20, 2007 respectively.
