Two employers ordered to pay MPF non-payment
********************************************

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (March 30) pursued two claims in the Small Claims Tribunal for about $60,000 on behalf of nine employees, who were owed MPF contributions by their employers.

At today's hearing, the defendant, Addmore Corporation Limited trading as Y.Y.K. Hot Pots (formerly known as Chicken Seafood Restaurant), did not dispute the amounts claimed. The Adjudicator ordered it to pay the MPFA the sum of $17,529.78, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable.

The other defendant, Go On Digital Limited, did not appear at today's hearing. In its absence, the Adjudicator ordered it to pay the MPFA the sum of $43,150, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable.

The amounts awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The court further awarded payments of $206 and $196 respectively as the costs in respect of the claims.
