Secretary for Security visits Kwun Tong (with photos)

    The Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, today (March 29) visited Kwun Tong to learn more about the family support and youth services provided to residents in the district.

     During his visit to the Sau Po Integrated Family Service Centre, Mr Lee was told that this was a new service operated by the Social Service Department and subvented non-government organisations to provide comprehensive and one-stop services to meet the needs of individuals and families in the community.

     He also learnt that a district liaison group, comprising representatives from the Social Welfare Department, Police and non-government organisations, had been formed to deal with issues relating to domestic violence.

     Accompanied by Kwun Tong District Officer, Miss Pauline Wong, Mr Lee met members of a mutual help group to listen to their concerns.

     Mr Lee then visited the Boys' and Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong Jockey Club Sau Mau Ping Children and Youth Integrated Services Centre. The centre provides children and youth services, outreach and counselling services to help young people in need. Mr Lee took the opportunity to chat with some of the youngsters.

     He also went to the roof top of Futura Plaza to have an overview of the development of the Kwun Tong industrial area.
